Most Malaysian consume too much of the omega-6 oil found in meats and most vegetable oils. In contrast, they do not consume adequate amounts of the omega-3 oils, which lead to an increased risk for heart desease and about 60 other conditions, including cancer, arhritis, stroke, high presure, skin disease and diabetes. Particularly important to good health are the longer chain omega-3 acids such as eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (HDA) found in fish, especially cold-water fish, such as salmon, mackerel, herring and halibut.
